The Pantheon

Built ~125 AD under Hadrian. The oculus at the top of the dome is open to the sky — when it rains, it rains inside.

  • Reservations required + a small entry fee (€5, free on the first Sunday of the month) — book at coopculture.it
  • Best light: late afternoon, ~5:30–6:30 PM
  • Stand directly under the oculus and look up
  • Raphael is buried inside — find the tomb to the left of the altar
