Trevi Fountain
June 29, 2026
The largest baroque fountain in Rome — completed 1762 by Salvi (and finished by Pannini after his death). Free to visit, always busy.
Visit notes (June 29)
- Go early — before 8am or after 10pm to avoid the crush
- The tradition: stand with your back to the fountain, hold a coin in
your right hand, toss it over your left shoulder
- One coin = you'll return to Rome
- Two coins = romance with a Roman
- Three coins = wedding bells
- The coins are collected nightly and donated to charity
- Don't wade in — there's a fine
